SPOONKILLER

Filmed on a shoestring budget, the horror/comedy The Horribly Slow Murderer With the Extremely Inefficient Weapon featured Brian as the Spoonkiller - also known as the Ginosaji - relentlessly tormenting his victim with a spoon. The film won its first award - a Special Jury Prize at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX - just hours after editing was completed. It would go on to win 15 awards at various festivals around the world.

In the weeks and months after it’s festival run, the film would become “A legitimate online phenomenon” - Ain’t It Cool News

Fans began cosplaying as Brian’s character, creating fan art, tribute videos (including an animated LEGO tribute video), and one-off toys. Several fans even got Spoonkiller tattoos. At a protest in Chile, people were spotted dressed as the Spoonkiller - now a symbol of their relentless crusade - including one who attacked a special forces vehicle…with a spoon.

Some limited-edition merchandise, including rubber masks, souvenir spoons, and animated toys were authorized. In 2023, White Flag Toys created a uncommissioned (but welcome) Ginosaji action figure.
